The Chalet/Log Buildings include Heidi, Jungfrau, Edelweiss, Pleiades, Infirmary, A-Frame, Tall Timbers and Aspen.

Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp has several self-contained, independent, mountain cabins which are located away from the Main Camp area and offer a sense of privacy and isolation. They include Eagle’s Nest, Ski-Hi-View, Rocky Ridge, Solitude Center & Park Ridge.
For these facilities, sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels are provided for each of the bedrooms. Guests should bring sleeping bags, pillows and towels for those not sleeping in listed bedrooms.
A supply of firewood is supplied for fireplaces or wood stoves. Additionally an axe and saw are available for any wood that needs to be cut.
Off-season: From mid-September to the end of May, fees are half price as the cold weather requires the water to be turned off. An outdoor privy is available for bathroom use. Bedding is not provided during this period. Depending on the quantity of snow, four wheel drive vehicles or snow shoes may be necessary as the road is only plowed to Chalet Emmental. Rocky Ridge and Park Ridge are not available during the off-season.
RETREAT CENTER
Chalet Emmental is ideal for family reunions or small conferences. Sheets, pillows, blankets and towels are provided. Groups are free to prepare their own meals in the kitchen or food service can be purchased from camp.

The Camp’s elevation is 9,620 feet and you will want to take time to adjust to the altitude. About one in four visitors to Colorado suffer acute mountain sickness, the mildest form of altitude illness. The most common symptoms are headache, shortness of breath, fatigue and dry throat. Things you can do to minimize or avoid altitude sickness include:
- <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Drink plenty of water before and during your time here at RMMC to prevent dehydration.
- <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Avoid strenuous exercise (hiking, jogging, etc.), salty foods when you first arrive.
- <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->A good night’s rest your first night here is very helpful in providing time to acclimate.
- <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->If coming from sea level or low elevation, you might spend the night in Colorado Springs (6,035 ft.) which allows your body more time to adjust to the change in altitude.
The sun is more intense at this altitude so be mindful of how quickly sunburn can occur. Use adequate sun protection including sunscreen (with SPF of 15 or higher), or clothing (wearing long sleeves, hat/cap) for outdoor activities. Reapply sunscreen periodically throughout the day as needed.
ABOUT THE WEATHER
SUMMER - Summer in the high country offers pleasant days and cool nights, with temperatures ranging from 35-45°F in the morning to a high of 65-75°F in the afternoon. Expect frosty mornings in early June and late August, but the sun brings rapid warming. Rain and hail storms build quickly and frequently in the afternoons, but they do not usually last long. Clothing items to bring include: pants, light jacket, sweat shirt and rain coat.
WINTER - Colorado winter temperatures range from -10°-0°F at night to a high of 35°-45°F during the day. Because of low humidity (8-10%) temperatures feel like 45°-65°F. Sunshine makes all the difference with an average of 300 days of sun per year. Clothing items to bring include: warm winter coat, snow pants, gloves, snow boots, and hat.
WINTER CONDITIONS
DRIVING – Be aware that road conditions are a direct result of changing weather conditions (snow, melting & freezing temperatures). While we snow plow the forest service road to camp and roads on camp, the roads can be snow packed and slick. Four wheel drive vehicles are ideal, but good chains (bands) for tires on two wheel drive vehicles are equally effective (sometime better) for getting around. The majority of the time, two wheel drive vehicles (without chains/bands), are able to make it to the main camp parking lot. Please feel free to call from Divide, CO for an update on road conditions as well as letting us know that you’re on your way!
NEARBY TOWNS
DIVIDE - A small town about 6 miles from camp, offers the nearest groceries, gas, and auto repair.
WOODLAND PARK - A larger town about 13 miles east on Hwy 24, has the closest super markets, department stores, Laundromats, drug stores, banks, health care facilities, restaurants, and tourist shopping.
YOUTH GROUP GUESTS
Each group is responsible for their own program and program supervision. A written schedule of events is requested prior to the arrival date and the group will be responsible for registration and room assignments. Youth groups are required to have an adult sponsor for every 10 youth.
