THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS!
We could not do it without you.
You can see photos of our volunteers on our facebook page: Volunteer Photo Album
The ministry at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp is possible because of the dedication of countless volunteers. From weekend retreats in the fall and winter, to week long adventures in the summer, volunteers can been found at all corners of camp. RMMC is a stronger ministry because of all efforts to keep this place running for guests.
Spike Hostetler (right) from Harper, Kansas, volunteered for the summer on the Maintenance staff. In this photo, Spike along with summer staffer, Jon Shetler, help pour concrete for the Jungfrau deck. Spike and his wife, Gloria, have been volunteers for the past 10 summers!
Short Term Volunteers
Short term positions are typically two weeks or less. They range from helping with outdoor projects like painting, landscaping, chopping wood, etc. Other opportunities where we might need help would be with housekeeping or kitchen. Based on your ability and willingness, we can find tasks that fits our ministry needs and your gifts. No application is necessary if you are with us for shorter than two weeks. Please call us to discuss your interest.
Free housing, food and health insurance coverage (up to $5,000 for those without primary insurance) is offered for those unable to make longer term commitments.
Long Term Volunteers
Long term positions are longer than two weeks. If you are considering a long term position, please complete an application which can be found on the right hand side of this page. We also ask for three references (other than immediate family & peers) to complete your application. We are also listed with Mennonite Mission Network as a service location for SOOP. An application from them is also acceptable. For more information about SOOP, click here.

Volunteer Housing & Food
Our volunteers are provided with available facilities during their stay here which might range from a bedroom with beds only (eating prepared meals at camp). A small apartment-style accommodation with a private kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom is also an option. Your accommodations will be based on the time of year, and the number of guests that we have. For volunteers with an RV/travel trailer, water, sewer and electrical hook ups are available from June to September only. Volunteers are a huge blessing to the Rocky Mountain ministry, so we provide lodging and food at no cost for their volunteer term.
We are located in the mountains at 9,620 feet of elevation. Adjustment to the altitude is a necessary reality taking one or two days. Staying overnight at a middle altitude (Colorado Spring or Denver) greatly helps as does proper hydration. The mountains provide a beautiful landscape but not many flat surfaces. In the winter and even in the spring, snow is always a possibility. The summer months offer temperatures in the range of 70-80 degrees in the afternoons with cool mornings.

Pictured from left to right is Daniel, Ethan, & Jeff Spicher as they help in the dish room. The Spicher's (along with mom, Jean, not pictured) volunteer for many weekend retreats in the kitchen. Daniel & Ethan also like to keep up their skills at the foosball table when time allows.
