Camp is happy to join the goodwill which led to Giving Tuesday (occurring annually after Thanksgiving) and the desire to move the focus from consumerism (i.e. Black Friday, Cyber Monday) to philanthropy and community support emphasizing that generosity can be a part of everyday life through financial gifts, volunteering, and acts of kindness. On this day, we welcome you to consider the following ways you can be part of the Rocky Mountain ministry:

PAYING THE LEGACY FORWARD CAMPAIGN

(Annual help for camp programs & summer staff support)

Each year, camp needs this financial support to ensure year-round financial sustainability. Please consider giving to support the following needs:

  • Summer Staff Support – $400 weekly salary represents camps desire for young adults to see serving on summer staff as a viable summer job opportunity.
  • Propane Tank retired/replaced – $8000 was needed to replace the propane tank (built in 1949) which offers heat and hot water to campers and guests year around on the Chapel side of camp.

Your generous support ensures that cost is not a barrier for a camper of any age to experience a summer camp at Rocky Mountain.
  • Resident Camp – $217 offers a 50% scholarship for a camper family financially challenged

VISION 2030 CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

(Occasional help for large building/infrastructure projects)

The Vision 2023 Capital Campaign (2021-2030) looks to long term needs of the Rocky Mountain ministry to ensure it is positioned well to continue to fulfill it’s mission for future generations. Currently, the Bern Dining Hall is receiving a significant renovation since it’s origins (and the beginnings of camp) back in 1952. Improvements to insulation, roof, walls, lighting, electrical, plumbing floor and window restoration are a few of the goals in having it serve the Rocky Mountain ministry for current and future generations.

  • LED lighting – $1,600 will help distribute light more evenly from wall edge to wall edge
  • Tech, sound system – $10,000 will buy the equipment to allow announcements to be amplified in individual gathering spaces (i.e. Zurich Dining Hall, Bern Dining Hall, outside Umbrella Patio) or ALL gathering spaces at the same time.
  • Commercial doors – $20,000 will help purchase and install new doors. Imagine how many uses the doors in the dining hall receives each summer?
  • Hardwood floor – $33,600 to replace the Maple wood floor.
  • Dining Hall/Lodge Roof – $100,000 will improve insulation for energy efficiency and address ice dam challenges.
