Vision 2030 Capital Campaign
Occasional help for large building/infrastructure projects
The Vision 2023 Capital Campaign (2021-2030), looks to long term needs of the Rocky Mountain ministry to ensure it is positioned well to continue to fulfill it’s mission for future generations. Currently, camp is engaged in major renovations of the Main Camp Dining Hall/Lodge which has served as the central gathering space here at RMMC since camps beginnings in 1952.
We have been blessed with great staff, board, volunteers, and hired trades folk to accomplish the work that’s been done. Since beginning last October, projects of all sizes have been accomplished, including but not limited to:
- Demolition – remove interior ceiling, wall and floor coverings for access to building frame
- Roof replacement (entire Dining Hall/Lodge):
tear off old roof of entire structure, add 2” of foam insulation (exterior) for energy efficiency and room comfort,
add cold roof to address ice dams, new gutters for improved drainage, new roof covering for the entire Dining Hall/Lodge - Created storage room underneath main floor with exterior access
- Reinforce support of fireplace hearth
- Install new commercial exterior doors and increase door access and approach to the Umbrella Patio
- Add metal reinforcement to ceiling rafters
- New electrical and plumbing service
- Insulation (interior) added to ceiling, walls and foundation walls
As of April, we now lean toward the “finish line” with the following:
- Painting the ceiling and rafters
- Sanding and finishing the new Maple floor
- Framing the windows
- Installing new countertops on drinkstation cabinets
We invite your financial support to successfully complete and pay for the much needed improvements as the Bern Dining Hall renovation serves another 74 years of service to the Rocky Mountain ministry.

Paying the Legacy Forward Campaign
Annual help for sustaining camp programs & summer staff support
Rocky Mountain needs your support for the year-round financial sustainability in providing the ministry offered to campers and guests. In particular, our desire to raise $100k annually to this fund comes out of a desire to offer a viable summer staff job opportunity to young adults which make the summer camping season possible. Offering a $325 weekly salary with, returning staff and full summer season bonus along with travel assistance (to ensure travel cost to RMMC isn’t a barrier) can easily reach $80k for 25 summer staff. This fund ensures camp fulfills our mission statement of being a place of retreat and community in God’s Creation . . . each and every year!
Annual need: $150k | Amount received this year: $33,800
Amount still needed: $116,200

Endowment Fund
Long term sustainability/insurance fund ensuring camps ministry for future generations
Rocky Mountain needs your support to ensure its long term sustainability for future generations. Two external challenges camp faced in the past 5 years included:
Coronavirus Pandemic: The summer youth camping season in 2020 was completely cancelled. It was heartbreaking to have everyone (summer staff, camper registrations, camp nurses, etc.) and everything in place for the coming summer camping season. The week before our first camp, we got news from our childcare license that overnight camps were closed for the summer.
Had we not prepared in week/months prior to summer, then we were the ones choosing to not hold camp. The loss of providing a summer camp experience also meant the loss of revenue the camp uses to offer programs and minsitry all the months of the year. Thankfully, donors responded to the challenge and generously and made it possible to make it through the challenges brought forth by the pandemic.
Property Insurance Dropped: In 2024, the company camp was insured with for more than 24 years abruptly dropped coverage as a result of the drought and destructive fires in northern Colorado. Finding new carriers was as challenging as the rates being offered by the few who offered quotes. With the previous property insurance, $1.00 bought $200 of coverage. The few companies will to visit with us offered policies where $1.00 bought only $3.00-$4.00 of coverage.
As a result of experiences like these, the Camp Board members elected to create the endowment fund which serves as insulation/insurance fund for challenges that camp might face in the future. The current 10 year goal ($200k / year) is to reach a $2 million endowment for immediate needs (loss of structure, etc.) with the confidence that the RMMC community would also rise to the occasion for additional support if needed. Our desire is to protect the property and programs of the Rocky Mountain ministry for future generations to come.
Please consider including Rocky Mountain in wills or estate planning.
Annual goal: $200k | Amount received this year: $20k
Amount still needed: $180k
Camper Scholarships Fund
Ensures cost isn’t a barrier to having a camp experience
Your generous support ensures that cost is not a barrier for a camper of any age to experience a summer camp or weekend retreat at Rocky Mountain. The challenge with these limited funds is to find the right balance of helping as many campers as possible while also helping as much as needed with the scholarship funds received.
In this spirit (with the Spirit), we ask families to consider the amount that fits their financial circumstances best.
Annual need (15 scholarships): $10k | Amount received this year: $2k
Amount still needed: $8k
