Jr High Snow Camp

Jr. High Snow Camp is one of many highlights in the Rocky Mountain Camp calendar. The minimal snow (only 25 inches received this year) did not dampen the spirits of outdoor play and some extra effort of breathing life into the tube run. The pond was well frozen with cold temps, but our hearts were warm with good food, good worship and good fellowship. Brett Klingenberg (Whitestone Mennonite Church Pastor, Hesston, KS and farmer) on the theme “Where is God” in discovering how God revealed himself to people long ago as well as today (Psalm 139, John 1, Acts 2). Participants shared the following about their experience:

About worship time:

“I really liked all the singing and Brett’s services.” / “I loved worship time. It was fun and I got to learn new things about God.” / “Love having young adults involved in this way”

Other:

“This was my first Snow Camp and definitely not my last! I loved everything soooo much.” / ‘It was so fun to meet new people and play games!” / “I’m always amazed at how much you all can fit into Friday to Sunday. There are so many meaningful experiences and plenty of down time.”

Suggestions for the future:

“Give kids coffee.” / “Get hot tubs for each cabin . . . or showers closer.”
