PICTURED: Installation of new cabinets
It was a whirlwind of progress and transition in the Bern Dining Hall from one weekend to the next here at Rocky Mountain (April 24-May 2). With the Maple floor installed the previous week, there was little time to get ready for a wedding only one weekend after Mennonite Quilters Retreat. Cabinets for the drink station needed to be installed along with putting the wood up on the walls to cover the electrical wiring and insulation improvements. With this work complete, the room then needed to be emptied of tool card, table saws, lumber, scaffolding, ladders and sawdust.
By Thursday, the preparation for the wedding began with much broom sweeping, much vacuuming and much dusting. With the cleaning complete, tables and chairs were moved in along with the portable sound system, making the Bern Dining Hall ready to offer the social hour between the wedding ceremony and reception.

- Paint ceiling and rafter structure
- Paint exterior doors
- Sanding & finishing new Maple wood floor
- Restoration of original windows & window trim
- Install new interior and exterior lighting
- install ceiling fans
- Install counter top and sink for drink station
- Install new built in sound system
- Return tables, benches, table tennis table, foosball table, games & arts & crafts cabinets
